The Poughkeepsie show tonight has been rescheduled because of all the snow. I haven’t seen it posted anywhere on Flyleaf’s sites, but it’s legit. We saw them yesterday at the Looney Tunes in-store, and their tour manager confirmed that it was rescheduled. You can view the venue’s for more information.
*DUE TO THE WEATHER THIS SHOW HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 5/24, ALL TICKETS PURCHASED FOR 2/10 WILL BE HONORED FOR THE NEW DATE*
So instead of seeing the band play a headliner today, I’m going to work on the site! I will be posting the pictures and video from the Looney Tunes acoustic event last night, and finding some stuff that I know I have from the last few shows that I haven’t uploaded. So stay tuned. I’ll post as everything gets uploaded. :) For the record, is the coolest record store I’ve been in lately. Go there if you live in the area. The band’s setlist for the performance last night was (click for performance videos):
Tons and tons of new tour dates with Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace have been announced in the past couple weeks, and they’re all posted here. Thanks to Caleb for uploading them. :) We’re going to be at a few of them (like always), so I hope to see some of you there! :)
According to the band’s page, they are currently recording the music video for Missing. You can view lots of pictures on their . Here’s one just to give you guys an idea of what to expect!
For this upcoming tour, I’m going to be putting together another Flyleaf Scrapbook to give to the band. If Memento Mori has moved you in any way (or anything else related to the band), please share it here. I have a feeling this one is going to be a good one. :D I think this will be number 5!
Performances of “Again” and “Arise” and an Interview with Mike Hsu from WAAF in Boston. I also have these videos from this event of my own that I have to upload. They’re huge and in hi-def though, so they’re going to take forever to convert. Hopefully soon!
All of the listening party and MM tour dates that have been announced are available here. Lacey and Jared/Sameer will be at these events, and I believe it’s first come first serve. So get there early! They’re also free, so you have no excuse if you don’t show up. :P
Also, I know some of you have heard already, but the release date for Memento Mori has been pushed back to November 10, 2009. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, so hopefully we’ll find out more details soon. :)

Yay! I’ll hopefully see whoever is going to the NYC & Boston shows. :D Very exciting that there are new tour dates in intimate venues. It’s been confirmed that the band will be playing songs from Memento Mori, so this is going to be amazing.
Vote to bring the band to your general area for an exclusive listening party! The band will be coming to 3 out of 5 of these parties, so it’s going to be pretty cool! It’s better if you vote for a big city in your area instead of just your hometown. You have a better chance that way.
For anyone in the north east, plz vote. We’ve got nothing in the top 5 right now! It’s all Texas and the western states. I think we should get at least 1 in the area! The ‘New York City metro area‘ is the closest we’ve got, so I think it’d be best to focus on that or maybe Philly for now.
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – Nearly a thousand service members were treated to a healthy dose of hard rock, July 6, thanks to the Texas-based band Flyleaf. First up in their hour-long set was a new song titled “Justice and Mercy”.
“This first song was written with all of you in mind,” said vocalist Lacey Sturm as she greeted the crowd.
In the lyrics, the words “The living and dying, surviving, we’re trying to breathe in safety – come home safely” were written for Soldiers, said tour manager Kat Hartmann.
“The song is about respect for the troops,” Hartmann went on. “We respect everything they’ve done like putting their lives on the line, which is also in the lyrics to the song.”
Travelling light, Flyleaf performed their shows acoustically, which is something they’re not used to doing. In addition to a light equipment load, two members of the band couldn’t make the tour. Bass player Pat Seals and guitarist Sameer Bhattacharya stayed behind for personal reasons while lead singer Sturm’s husband Josh stepped in to play guitar for the duration of the tour. But in true wartime fashion, Flyleaf did the very best with what was available.
The Flyleaf show was full of special treats for the troops. According to Hartmann, the group played their new songs “Chasm” and “Circle” from their upcoming album “Memento Mori” for the first time live. The band also stuck around and signed autographs for anyone who wanted them, a process that took the rockers well past 2 a.m.
“This was our first tour for the troops,” said Sturm. “I hope we can come back and do it again.”
The band Flyleaf touched down at Forward Operating Base Ramrod July 5 to the delight of hundreds of Soldiers and civilians. The band held a meet and greet with the Soldiers and then went over to the Canadian Artillery side of the base and fired off several 155mm illumination rounds. They can shoot up to 40 kilometers away with pinpoint accuracy.
After that, they held a two-hour concert on our makeshift stage directly between the chapel and our Rocky-style gym. It was a great time and a much-needed morale booster for everyone here. Who would have thought in Southern Afghanistan that we would be listening to an internationally known “Christian†Rockband?
The band left early the next day, but they stayed after the concert to sign everything from scraps of paper to Soldiers shirts. I’m sure we’ll see some of the items being auctioned on E-bay.
I’d like to personally thank Flyleaf for coming out here. For two hours no one thought of fighting, or worried about their next patrol; they just stood their smiling and singing along with a band who wanted to show their appreciation for all the military does. Thanks Flyleaf!
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I updated the tour page with a bunch of new dates. Flyleaf is going to be doing the this summer, which is really awesome. I think admission is fairly cheap, so if the tour is coming to your town, you should really consider going.
I also updated a couple of things in the band section including the FAQ page and the lyrics. I added what I thought were the lyrics to Beautiful Bride as well as the lyrics to songs that Lacey has been featured on. So check those out if it interests you. :D
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I added a handful of new tour dates. They’re mostly Christian festivals that I put up, so if that’s your thing, definitely grab some tickets. Those always turn out to be the best Flyleaf shows.
Here is a new picture of the band rehearsing for their upcoming tour that kicks off April 28th. Is anybody going to any of the upcoming shows? If you have the chance to go, you really should. Completely worth it. Roadtrip if you can! Also…….
I wanted to give everyone a friendly reminder about the Flyleaf Scrapbook Project that we’ve had going for over 2 years now. I’m going to be making another one before the North Carolina shows I’m going to, so please consider submitting something for it if you feel moved to. The cutoff for this book will be May 07, 2009. This will be the 4th one that we’ve put together. Kind of a nice tradition that I love being in the position to do, so if you have a story, drawing, or some words of encouragement, please email me with it. Here are some pictures of past scrapbooks if anybody was wondering what they end up looking like. :]
Now that news about the new Flyleaf album is starting to pick up, I just wanted to remind everyone that loves to promote Flyleaf to join their . We’ve got a great community brewing over there. I expect promotion will start up within the next month or so, so everyone who hasn’t joined in yet should consider it. It’d be good to start now so you can get settled in before the big wave of new stuff comes. Anyway! It’s really awesome over there. Check it out.
I also wanted to let you guys know that the tour page has been updated to reflect the band’s most current tour schedule.
Flyleaf played in Oklahoma at the Ford Center last night, and a YouTube user uploaded a lot of great videos. Here are some:
Check out the rest . Thanks to Duck387 for the awesome stuff.
According to the , the video for Sorrow will premiere on MTV2 Unleashed tomorrow, April 26th. You can catch it at the top of every music hour starting Saturday morning or on . As soon as we can, we’ll also have the video available here on Flyleaf Online for download along with caps for graphics.
This might be old news to some of you, but Flyleaf’s 2008 Tour Merch is now available on their . There’s some nice stuff up there, so everyone should check it out.
In the band section, I updated a few of the tour dates as well as the chart history. All Around Me has been moving up the pop charts steadily. It’s currently up to #24 on Top 40, #64 on the Hot 100 and #23 on Pop 100 Airplay.
As far as fan/media updates, we have a new piece of fan art thanks to Nichola. It’s a really awesome portrait of James. In addition to that, there are 4 new videos from Tink’s in Scranton, PA.
Today (April 19, 2008) was Record Store Day. Flyleaf sent out an email alert letting everyone know that the Much Like Falling EP was going to be available in local record stores today, and today only. Thanks to Jake, we have scans of the EP.
In the band section, I added a lot of tour dates and some video information on Sorrow. More will be added once we know more about it. In addition to that, the chart history page has been updated heavily. All Around Me has been doing really well on Top 40. It’s at #26 right now. The song has also been doing really well on other pop charts.
The chat with Sameer went really well. I think around 40 people were involved, and it was really hard to keep up, but it was cool. Pat showed up about 15 minutes after Sameer did, surprising everyone. A lot of fun facts were learned about the two of them including Sameer’s favorite authors, what Have We Lost means and something about Pat wearing high heels. All in all, a good time was had by all.
The frequently asked questions page was updated with the meaning of Have We Lost and some info about what Lacey sings before Justice and Mercy at shows. In addition to that, a few more tour dates have been added.
As far as fans/media goes, the fan tattoos page has been updated with Kayla’s tattoo and story. Some new wallpapers were also added thanks to Marley.
The tour dates from the first leg of the Seether/Flyleaf Co-Headlining shows have been posted. The first round of pre-sales will begin on February 11, 2008, and will only be available through Flyleaf’s Official Fanclub . As soon as the second leg of the tour gets posted, I’ll add it to the tour page.
Sameer posted on the band’s today in regards to the ‘Christian band’ questions/comments they always receive. He answered a lot of questions that a lot of people may have about the topic, so if you’re interested, you should definitely take a second to read it.
There have been many messages about whether we’re a Christian band or not, so I just decided to post one of my replies in a blog for everyone to read.
Brace yourself. This is long-winded.
To clear everything up we are all Christians. We all love God and strive to live and perceive the world like Jesus would. Not necessarily like today’s “Church” would, but how the apostle’s and, more importantly, how Jesus explained how we should by the examples given to us in the Bible. Yes, we are Christians. But there is a dispute among everyone, even us in the band. Not one that we fight about, but one that is light-hearted and fun to discuss. It’s the issue of whether we are a “Christian band” or not, and what that means.
The Seether & Flyleaf Co-Headlining tour has been confirmed by and the . The dates will be announced tomorrow on the Street Team, and some new promotion orders will be sent out as well. Everyone should think about joining both the fanclub and the ST. It’s really a great way to support the band, and you get news before anyone else.
A blog was posted on the band’s with more information:
As you know, Flyleaf is hitting the road with Seether this Spring. The band is excited to offer members of their official fan club, Passerby Army, presale tickets before the general public can get them– and at lower services fees. Not only will members of Passerby Army be able to purchase tickets before everyone else – members will also have the chance at winning a Meet and Greet with Flyleaf!
The only way to gain access to these tickets and perhaps win a Meet and Greet is by becoming a member now. Fan club members also get a membership t-shirt, access to a fan club only website with exclusive news, special contests, a private message board and chat rooms. Recently both Jared and Lacey hopped on the Passerby Army chat board with fan club members. Please go to to signup for the fan club. Instructions on the presale will be posted in the news section of the fan club shortly.
Also, Flyleaf will be featured in Rolling Stone magazine. The issue that they’re featured in should hit stands February 22nd, so I’ll try to pick up a copy to scan. So look for that in the next few weeks as well. :D
