Tour Dates & Scrapbook!

Filed under: News, Scrapbook, Tour, Videos — brittany @ 12:27 am

Tons and tons of new tour dates with Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace have been announced in the past couple weeks, and they’re all posted here. Thanks to Caleb for uploading them. :) We’re going to be at a few of them (like always), so I hope to see some of you there! :)

According to the band’s Twitter page, they are currently recording the music video for Missing. You can view lots of pictures on their FaceBook. Here’s one just to give you guys an idea of what to expect!

For this upcoming tour, I’m going to be putting together another Flyleaf Scrapbook to give to the band. If Memento Mori has moved you in any way (or anything else related to the band), please share it here. I have a feeling this one is going to be a good one. :D I think this will be number 5!

Church Listening Party Pro-Shot Performance Videos (Again/Arise)!

Filed under: Memento Mori, News, Tour, Videos — brittany @ 12:35 pm

Performances of “Again” and “Arise” and an Interview with Mike Hsu from WAAF in Boston. I also have these videos from this event of my own that I have to upload. They’re huge and in hi-def though, so they’re going to take forever to convert. Hopefully soon!

Filed under: Memento Mori, Tour — brittany @ 12:09 am

All of the listening party and MM tour dates that have been announced are available here. Lacey and Jared/Sameer will be at these events, and I believe it’s first come first serve. So get there early! They’re also free, so you have no excuse if you don’t show up. :P

Also, I know some of you have heard already, but the release date for Memento Mori has been pushed back to November 10, 2009. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, so hopefully we’ll find out more details soon. :)

Flyleaf Listening Party!

Filed under: Memento Mori, News, Tour — brittany @ 6:33 pm

Vote to bring the band to your general area for an exclusive listening party! The band will be coming to 3 out of 5 of these parties, so it’s going to be pretty cool! It’s better if you vote for a big city in your area instead of just your hometown. You have a better chance that way.

For anyone in the north east, plz vote. We’ve got nothing in the top 5 right now! It’s all Texas and the western states. I think we should get at least 1 in the area! The ‘New York City metro area‘ is the closest we’ve got, so I think it’d be best to focus on that or maybe Philly for now.

Flyleaf Goes To Afghanistan

Filed under: Tour, Videos — brittany @ 12:25 pm

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – Nearly a thousand service members were treated to a healthy dose of hard rock, July 6, thanks to the Texas-based band Flyleaf. First up in their hour-long set was a new song titled “Justice and Mercy”.

“This first song was written with all of you in mind,” said vocalist Lacey Sturm as she greeted the crowd.

In the lyrics, the words “The living and dying, surviving, we’re trying to breathe in safety – come home safely” were written for Soldiers, said tour manager Kat Hartmann.

“The song is about respect for the troops,” Hartmann went on. “We respect everything they’ve done like putting their lives on the line, which is also in the lyrics to the song.”

Travelling light, Flyleaf performed their shows acoustically, which is something they’re not used to doing. In addition to a light equipment load, two members of the band couldn’t make the tour. Bass player Pat Seals and guitarist Sameer Bhattacharya stayed behind for personal reasons while lead singer Sturm’s husband Josh stepped in to play guitar for the duration of the tour. But in true wartime fashion, Flyleaf did the very best with what was available.

The Flyleaf show was full of special treats for the troops. According to Hartmann, the group played their new songs “Chasm” and “Circle” from their upcoming album “Memento Mori” for the first time live. The band also stuck around and signed autographs for anyone who wanted them, a process that took the rockers well past 2 a.m.

“This was our first tour for the troops,” said Sturm. “I hope we can come back and do it again.”

Full Article Here

The band Flyleaf touched down at Forward Operating Base Ramrod July 5 to the delight of hundreds of Soldiers and civilians. The band held a meet and greet with the Soldiers and then went over to the Canadian Artillery side of the base and fired off several 155mm illumination rounds. They can shoot up to 40 kilometers away with pinpoint accuracy.

After that, they held a two-hour concert on our makeshift stage directly between the chapel and our Rocky-style gym. It was a great time and a much-needed morale booster for everyone here. Who would have thought in Southern Afghanistan that we would be listening to an internationally known “Christian” Rockband?

The band left early the next day, but they stayed after the concert to sign everything from scraps of paper to Soldiers shirts. I’m sure we’ll see some of the items being auctioned on E-bay.

I’d like to personally thank Flyleaf for coming out here. For two hours no one thought of fighting, or worried about their next patrol; they just stood their smiling and singing along with a band who wanted to show their appreciation for all the military does. Thanks Flyleaf!

Tour Dates

Filed under: Tour — brittany @ 8:32 pm

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I updated the tour page with a bunch of new dates. Flyleaf is going to be doing the Rock The River Tour this summer, which is really awesome. I think admission is fairly cheap, so if the tour is coming to your town, you should really consider going.

I also updated a couple of things in the band section including the FAQ page and the lyrics. I added what I thought were the lyrics to Beautiful Bride as well as the lyrics to songs that Lacey has been featured on. So check those out if it interests you. :D

Flyleaf Tour Dates

Filed under: News, Tour — brittany @ 9:49 am

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I added a handful of new tour dates. They’re mostly Christian festivals that I put up, so if that’s your thing, definitely grab some tickets. Those always turn out to be the best Flyleaf shows.

Tour ‘09

Filed under: News, Scrapbook, Tour — brittany @ 10:08 pm

Here is a new picture of the band rehearsing for their upcoming tour that kicks off April 28th. Is anybody going to any of the upcoming shows? If you have the chance to go, you really should. Completely worth it. Roadtrip if you can! Also…….

I wanted to give everyone a friendly reminder about the Flyleaf Scrapbook Project that we’ve had going for over 2 years now. I’m going to be making another one before the North Carolina shows I’m going to, so please consider submitting something for it if you feel moved to. The cutoff for this book will be May 07, 2009. This will be the 4th one that we’ve put together. Kind of a nice tradition that I love being in the position to do, so if you have a story, drawing, or some words of encouragement, please email me with it. Here are some pictures of past scrapbooks if anybody was wondering what they end up looking like. :]

New Live Videos, Tour Dates, And ST Reminder

Filed under: News, Streetteam, Tour — brittany @ 3:54 pm

Now that news about the new Flyleaf album is starting to pick up, I just wanted to remind everyone that loves to promote Flyleaf to join their official street team. We’ve got a great community brewing over there. I expect promotion will start up within the next month or so, so everyone who hasn’t joined in yet should consider it. It’d be good to start now so you can get settled in before the big wave of new stuff comes. Anyway! It’s really awesome over there. Check it out.

I also wanted to let you guys know that the tour page has been updated to reflect the band’s most current tour schedule.

Flyleaf played in Oklahoma at the Ford Center last night, and a YouTube user uploaded a lot of great videos. Here are some:

Check out the rest here. Thanks to Duck387 for the awesome stuff.

Sorrow, Charts, Tour, Videos, Fanart

According to the Flyleaf Street Team, the video for Sorrow will premiere on MTV2 Unleashed tomorrow, April 26th. You can catch it at the top of every music hour starting Saturday morning or on MTV2.com. As soon as we can, we’ll also have the video available here on Flyleaf Online for download along with caps for graphics.

This might be old news to some of you, but Flyleaf’s 2008 Tour Merch is now available on their Online Store. There’s some nice stuff up there, so everyone should check it out.

In the band section, I updated a few of the tour dates as well as the chart history. All Around Me has been moving up the pop charts steadily. It’s currently up to #24 on Top 40, #64 on the Hot 100 and #23 on Pop 100 Airplay.

As far as fan/media updates, we have a new piece of fan art thanks to Nichola. It’s a really awesome portrait of James. In addition to that, there are 4 new videos from Tink’s in Scranton, PA.

Today (April 19, 2008) was Record Store Day. Flyleaf sent out an email alert letting everyone know that the Much Like Falling EP was going to be available in local record stores today, and today only. Thanks to Jake, we have scans of the EP.

In the band section, I added a lot of tour dates and some video information on Sorrow. More will be added once we know more about it. In addition to that, the chart history page has been updated heavily. All Around Me has been doing really well on Top 40. It’s at #26 right now. The song has also been doing really well on other pop charts.

FAQ, Tour, Gallery, Wallpaper, Fan Tattoos, Chat with Sameer

The Passerby Army chat with Sameer went really well. I think around 40 people were involved, and it was really hard to keep up, but it was cool. Pat showed up about 15 minutes after Sameer did, surprising everyone. A lot of fun facts were learned about the two of them including Sameer’s favorite authors, what Have We Lost means and something about Pat wearing high heels. All in all, a good time was had by all.

The frequently asked questions page was updated with the meaning of Have We Lost and some info about what Lacey sings before Justice and Mercy at shows. In addition to that, a few more tour dates have been added.

As far as fans/media goes, the fan tattoos page has been updated with Kayla’s tattoo and story. Some new wallpapers were also added thanks to Marley.

Tour Dates, Sameer’s MySpace Blog

Filed under: News, Tour — Tags: — brittany @ 9:48 pm

The tour dates from the first leg of the Seether/Flyleaf Co-Headlining shows have been posted. The first round of pre-sales will begin on February 11, 2008, and will only be available through Flyleaf’s Official Fanclub Passerby Army. As soon as the second leg of the tour gets posted, I’ll add it to the tour page.

Sameer posted on the band’s MySpace today in regards to the ‘Christian band’ questions/comments they always receive. He answered a lot of questions that a lot of people may have about the topic, so if you’re interested, you should definitely take a second to read it.

There have been many messages about whether we’re a Christian band or not, so I just decided to post one of my replies in a blog for everyone to read.

Brace yourself. This is long-winded.

To clear everything up we are all Christians. We all love God and strive to live and perceive the world like Jesus would. Not necessarily like today’s “Church” would, but how the apostle’s and, more importantly, how Jesus explained how we should by the examples given to us in the Bible. Yes, we are Christians. But there is a dispute among everyone, even us in the band. Not one that we fight about, but one that is light-hearted and fun to discuss. It’s the issue of whether we are a “Christian band” or not, and what that means.

Seether & Flyleaf Co-Headline Tour, Rolling Stone

Filed under: News, Tour — brittany @ 6:42 pm

The Seether & Flyleaf Co-Headlining tour has been confirmed by Passerby Army and the Flyleaf Street Team. The dates will be announced tomorrow on the Street Team, and some new promotion orders will be sent out as well. Everyone should think about joining both the fanclub and the ST. It’s really a great way to support the band, and you get news before anyone else.

A blog was posted on the band’s official myspace with more information:

As you know, Flyleaf is hitting the road with Seether this Spring. The band is excited to offer members of their official fan club, Passerby Army, presale tickets before the general public can get them– and at lower services fees. Not only will members of Passerby Army be able to purchase tickets before everyone else – members will also have the chance at winning a Meet and Greet with Flyleaf!

The only way to gain access to these tickets and perhaps win a Meet and Greet is by becoming a member now. Fan club members also get a membership t-shirt, access to a fan club only website with exclusive news, special contests, a private message board and chat rooms. Recently both Jared and Lacey hopped on the Passerby Army chat board with fan club members. Please go to www.passerbyarmy.com to signup for the fan club. Instructions on the presale will be posted in the news section of the fan club shortly.

Also, Flyleaf will be featured in Rolling Stone magazine. The issue that they’re featured in should hit stands February 22nd, so I’ll try to pick up a copy to scan. So look for that in the next few weeks as well. :D

Fan Art, Tattoos, Audio, Gallery, Charts, Tour, Videos…Basically everything

Filed under: Audio, Charts, Fan Art, Gallery, Multimedia, Tour, Videos — Tags: , , , , , , — brittany @ 1:36 am

I have lots and lots of updates tonight, starting with the chart history page. Breathe Today has moved up a few spots to #36 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. In addition to that, the tour page has been updated with new dates. Flyleaf will be playing a few Christian festivals this summer including Creation and Sonshine. I added a show count to each year, and a total one to the main tour page as well. After tallying them all up, the band has played over 550 shows since 2002 that I’ve logged in the tour section. I’m sure there’s more that I don’t have, but still. That’s crazy.

In the media section, I’ve added a few new interviews with radio stations that the band has done. We also have a new wallpaper thanks to Marley. As promised, the entire Columbia show has been posted. A big thanks to Spree for shooting that, and uploading it. Also, a new interview with James for Vic Firth has been uploaded.

The fans section has been updated with a brand new tattoo thanks to Jenn. A few new pieces of fan art have also been added thanks to Mooncownow, Nichola and Hope.

Alrighty, let’s back it up a few steps…

Filed under: Charts, Gallery, News, Tour — Tags: , , — brittany @ 6:06 pm

Okay, Breathe Today is not the next single. Here’s what happened, in order to show appreciation to the radio stations that have been playing Flyleaf a lot, Octone/A&M sent out Breathe Today and Fully Alive acoustic versions to say thank you and here’s some extra stuff. It’s too soon to release another single, but they are thinking about which one will be next – it’s just really up in the air between 3 songs. So, there wont be another music video for a long time and I can’t see them releasing another single until after the new year for sure.

That is what management told us! :) — Kat Hartmann

So All Access confused us, but now we have the real story thanks to Jared’s wife, Kat Hartmann. :D

In other news — in the media section, a brand new MySpace Layout has been added. I figured it was about time for a new one. I’ll most likely be working on more sometime soon. To view it, you can click here.

The chart history page was also updated. The band sold over 10,000 records last week. :D I also updated the tour page with a few new dates.

Filed under: Charts, Contest, Gallery, Tour — brittany @ 10:52 pm

Flyleaf will be embarking on a large European tour spanning over 15 countries in early 2008. They’ll be touring with Korn and Deathstar. All of the dates that have been announced have been posted on the tour page. Also, some miscellaneous headlining shows in the US have been posted as well for late 2007.

Flyleaf is nominated in the CCM Reader’s Choice for Best Band of ‘07 and Best Hard Music of ‘07. To vote for the band, visit this link and fill out the survey.

Just a reminder to everyone who wants to enter the Flyleaf Online Karaoke Contest; the contest ends on September 30, 2007. So get your submissions in before the deadline if you want to be up for some cool prizes.

Guitar Hero III for X-Box

Fans already salivating for next month’s release of the video game “Guitar Hero III” will be treated to an Interscope CD featuring music from the game and a special code unlocking new or remixed songs from Marilyn Manson, AFI and Flyleaf.

Via a code that will come with the disc, Xbox Live users can unlock the bonus playable songs “Carcinogen Crush” from AFI, “Tina” from Flyleaf and a remix of Manson’s “Putting Holes in Happiness” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner.

Also, the Flyleaf Street Team is buzzing with news of new Flyleaf coming in October. What it actually is has remained a secret, but I’ve heard rumors of a Flyleaf LP reissue with new artwork and features or a Flyleaf DVD. Not sure exactly yet, but it’ll be posted here as soon as I know.

In other news, FlyleafMusic.com and the Flyleaf Merch Site have gotten makeovers. Nothing new as far as content really, but it’s worth looking at because it’s pretty. :D In addition to that, Flyleaf is nominated on Cornerstone’s “Favorite Shows” poll, so everyone should go and vote for the band there. Registration is free on that site, so go nuts.

Band section pages that have been updated this time include chart history as well as the tour page.

In the media section, the radio audio page and the misc audio page have been updated with new stuff. A couple more videos from the Atlanta FVT date have been added to the live video page thanks to Spree. Also, coming soon to theatres, we have 3 or 4 full length Flyleaf shows in the works to be posted in the video section. Those include the secret MySpace show and Holypalooza thanks to Spree, Hartford FVT [including a short acoustic show/interview] thanks to Ali and the Scranton Tink’s show thanks to Caleb. So look out for that in the coming weeks.

PS – The band loved the second Scrapbook. They really appreciate that all of the fans are pitching in to do this project, so hopefully we can keep it going. Thank you guys for helping me out by sending in amazing messages for the band.
