Did you have any ‘Spinal Tap’ moments this year?

My entire career has been one long Spinal Tap moment spiraling out of control. A couple of months back we were playing a big outdoor festival supporting The Pixies and Interpol in Mexico City. When we started the set it was as if I channeled the Air Force show in Spinal Tap. There was exponentially more Mexican talk radio coming through my amp than any guitar sounds. Then a 14″ step pyramid lowered from the truss and was almost trod upon by little people dressed like Aztec priests. I envy us.

What were some of your favorite releases from 2010?

Arcade Fire “The Suburbs”
Third Eye Blind “Ursa Major”

New Year’s resolution?

My New Year’s resolution is to be a better listener, and to shred like it’s 1986.

  1. "Somebody told you you’re worthless or somebody made you feel that way and that was wrong, that was an injustice to you. Because it’s so important that you fulfill highest height of what you’re created for. And I’m not talking about job or career, I’m talking about who you are. What we do on stage here is really awesome, it can help people but it’s no more important than when I go home, hug my sister and tell her that I love her." – Lacey Mosley

  2. How ironic; MY New Year's resolution is to shred like it's 1986. I think this proves that Sameer and I are meant to be best friends.

  3. I think Sameer needs to remember the 80's were the worst years of everything. very few good things came out of the 80's.
