New article with Pat about the band’s faith. Full article posted . Thank you to Laura for posting. :)
Flyleaf’s name is not as important as the Christian messages band members hope listeners rake in during a Rock the River tour stop.
”Our faith says the most about us,” bass player Pat Seals said, ”and I’m hoping that’s the message they’ll take and remember long after they forget our name.”
Mr. Seals and bandmates — vocalist Lacey Sturm, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, and drummer James Culpepper — will headline the Aug. 8 event at Davenport’s Centennial Park.
Touring with groups such as Korn, Staind and 3 Doors Down has given Flyleaf members plenty of opportunities to share their message.
”I always get asked ‘aren’t you that Christian band,’ and that opens up a chance,” Mr. Seals said.
But converting people is ”the Spirit’s job,” he said. ”A person has to make that choice to join the fold. It’s not something like ‘yep, I put five notches on my belt today.’ It’s something you set in front of them, and let them seek it out.”
Flyleaf was formed in Texas during the winter of 2002; and Mr. Seals joined the band the following summer.
He credits God for the group’s talents and successes.
For example, he says Ms. Sturm’s voice as ”God-given” and called the group’s first and platinum-selling album as a ”real blessing from God.”

Pat is so amazing! He is crazy and hilarious but actually intellectual and serious when he needs to be! :)

mhm. and Pat’s just so..real.
like he says “…it’s about trying to love your fellow human beings and figuring out the rest as best I can.”
he doesn’t act like just because he’s Christian he knows all the answers.
i can’t wait to see him climbing on amps and jumping around this fall!

and throwing on a good show.

I take it Lacey doesn’t have a wide selection of dresses to pick out of while on tour..
that’s the same dress she wore in May at the show I went to when Sameer stepped on it and ripped part of it off…then she wore it two nights after that at another show a friend of mine went to..same dress but it wasn’t fixed or nothing..no offence or anything but she’s had other nice outfits to pick from why go with the same one every night?
Comment by Melissa — August 4, 2009 @ 8:27 pm
doesn’t bother me in the slightest what she wears (I think she looks beautiful in it even if she wears it every night). i give her credit that she isn’t into impressing people with a fancy wardrobe (and maybe it’s just her favorite dress?) …she does live out of a bus too with something like 10-12 others so not sure how much each of them can take with them?? and yea, she wears her dresses ripped on purpose.
Comment by shirlee — August 4, 2009 @ 10:11 pm
dude, i love her ripped dress. it’s so badass..haha.
she doesn’t need to have an extensive wardrobe for concerts… no one does.
i think it’s awesome that she still wears the dress unrepaired.
wrecked clothes ftw

That dress, which I just saw her wear last night looked and smelled great at the Wisconsin Valley Fair. She was sweating a lot as she twirled into a spin cycle of enthusiastic ballarina moves so sensuous, fair and lovely there is no comparison. Graceful yet aggressive the dress matches both. I was for awhile in the front row and it smelled like a thousand roses blooming in the springtime air. The dress was a reflection of her beauty untouched.
And Pat the rest of the band played flawlessly as well. This was my first live concert with Flyleaf, Yeaaaay! After soooo long of waiting oh my God, I made it alive. Rock on and keep wearing that dress every single night until the fall tour starts, then switch over to the red one I like even better !

:D dang Todd. such a poet, lol
my favorite part was when you said “fall tour”. it made my heart do enthusiastic spin cycles.

her dress is pretty, needless to say, I didn’t mean any harm towards Lacey when I posted that last message. I was just curious about her wardobe. it’s pretty rad if I may say so.
rhia I know what you mean, my heart did the same thing! I couldn’t go to the show Sunday night because of family matters. so I’m holding out till this fall to find out if they do anymore tours closer to me cause I’ll make damn sure I’ll be there! :)

OCTOBER 20TH!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O.O
that site better be legit
Comment by rhia — August 7, 2009 @ 2:10 am
Tunelab was incorrect about the single release date, so I wouldn’t get too excited about this just yet. I’d wait for an official source to confirm it.
Comment by brittany — August 7, 2009 @ 8:43 am
Well… that was bittersweet news lol.
I was kinda hoping it wouldn’t be on the 20th.
I mean it’s on a Tuesday. I don’t have my driver’s
lisence and I quite frankly don’t think my mom would
take me anywhere on a Tuesday. Not to mention the
anxiety attacks I’d be getting knowing that the album
is out and I don’t have it lol. I’d have to wait
till Saturday or Sunday to get it.
The good part being… it was sooner than I thought.
I was thinking they were gonna release it on Halloween Day.

Hello, I’m Julia, a french fan, and i would like to thank you in the name of all the french Flyleaf’s fans for your awesome work about Flyleaf. I’ve already send you a comment a long time ago but I didn’t say what I want to say today. I have a blog on Flyleaf, a blog in french, since almost two years and without your site, without your work, it would be impossible for me to inform me and all the french fans who read my blog. They didn’t know you as I didn’t know you, but I really thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I’m very pleased to traduce in French all the news you publish, to inform the fans and especially to introduce french people to Flyleaf. I hope they will become more famous in France, and I hope to have the chance to see them for a concert in our country ! Please, if you have the time, come on my site and let me a comment just to know what you think of my work : ) I know you won’t understand what I wrote on my blog but a visit will make me happy : ) Oh, I think I have to sleep now,it’s very late, it’s the night here and I feel tired. I talk too much ><.
Thank you ! You're awesome, the band Flyleaf is awesome, Flyleaf's work is awesome AND your work is awesome. ^^ Waiting for your answer ^^
( Sorry for my english that's not very good. The essential thing is that you understood me. )

Albums are always released on Tuesdays (well, there are a few anomalies here and there, but I mean for the most part) so when they said it should be released in late October, I figured it would be either the 20th or 27th.
And, for the record, I love Lacey’s dress… what I don’t love is when she wears jeans under that particular one. Sorry Lace, I just gotta tell it like it is. ; )
Comment by Anna — August 7, 2009 @ 7:30 pm
Ricardo, they only release albums on Tuesday’s. (most of the time)
Comment by Laura — August 7, 2009 @ 7:30 pm

wait, Flyleaf only releases ablums on Tuesdays or it’s just a known thing that Tuesday is Release Day for all bands? o.o
..that’s a bit odd.
25TH! WOOH! that means if the first day of school blows the NEXT day i have something to wake up for.
Comment by rhia — August 8, 2009 @ 12:22 am
Rhia, For all bands, usually. There has lbeen a few times where albums have come out on other days. But most of the time, it’s always a tuesday.
